Description

This very rare board made by Californian manufacturer Hobie Alter and shaped by Dale Velsy is similar to the boards brought to Australia by the USA team in 1956 to demonstrate surfing at the International Surf Carnival held in conjunction with the Melbourne Olympic Games. A variation of this template was used by Australian board builders for the construction of the hollow ply Okanuii boards. 1955
