SurfWorld School Group Tours

 

Sessional Times
Programs are conducted Monday to Friday between the hours of 10am and 3pm. The duration of each session is 1 ½ hours. Maximum number of students per session is 30.

Prices
School groups are as follow:
$4 per student
A minimum charge for ten students applies for facilitated programs. One accompanying adult is free of charge with every 10 paying students. Additional adults are charged $9 each. No charge for adult accompanying student/s with special needs.

Our Location
SurfWorld Gold Coast is situated on the 1st Floor, 35 Tomewin St, Currumbin, Queensland, 4223 (opposite Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary). It is easily accessible via the M1 or Gold Coast Highway.

Buses and Parking
plenty of bus and car parking is available in Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary carpark. This carpark is on the same side of Tomewin St as SurfWorld.

Meeting Point
SurfWorld staff request that all groups wait inside the foyer area on the lower level and that a representative from the group inform SurfWorld staff of your arrival. SurfWorld staff will then come and greet you and provide you with any formal information.

Pre visit information for teachers
We find that students who are well prepared for a visit are more likely to gain from the SurfWorld experience. Whatever the purpose of your visit, students will benefit from being informed about what to expect during their visit to SurfWorld. We aim to make every visit to SurfWorld an amazing, fun and educational surfing and beach culture experience.

• We ask you confirm numbers no later than 48 hours prior to your visit
• We ask that all groups arrive no later than ten minutes before your tour so that all formal details can be arranged and confirmed.
• Entry prior to or after programs is not permitted. These times are booked for other groups.
• There is no bag storage area at SurfWorld and bags are not permitted in the exhibition area itself.

During your visit information for teachers – essential information

• To make the most of your visit and to ensure the comfort of all visitors we offer fully supervised programs.
• To ensure that the experience at SurfWorld is an enjoyable experience for all, we ask that all teachers and adults ensure that students follow the instructions at all times from SurfWorld staff and all students are well supervised by school staff throughout their visit.
• We ask that the appropriate site visit activity sheet is photocopied for each student. Each student will also require a writing utensil.
• The overall supervision of students is your responsibility. All adults accompanying school parties need to be clear about this role and of the understanding that the students should be under your supervision at all times. There are many visitors to SurfWorld, students and members of the public alike, all look forward to a pleasant time.
• SurfWorld does not have any designated indoor eating spaces. Please ensure students have eaten prior to the commencement of their program. Toilets are located on the same floor as the exhibition.
