WindanSea Exhibition - Friday, June 8th

Come along, have a couple of beers and a sausage sandwich with the WindanSea crew. The display incorporates all of the chapters of the World-Wide Club. Q&A panel with some great stories and characters.

WindanSea Exhibition

By 1970, Gold Coast became the official HQ for Windansea with their very own Clubhouse built in the flats behind Paula Stafford’s Bikini swimwear shop at Cahill Ave., Surfer Paradise.

Arguably by then, Windansea Gold Coast was the most dominant Boardriding Club in Australia with an unbeatable list of individual titles. Drouyn won Australian open title in 1970 followed by Paul Neilsen in 1971. At the same time Caloundra asked to form a regional branch. By 1975 the Gold Coast Club had run its course, however the Australian Windansea legacy continues on the Sunshine Coast with approval to build their own Clubhouse at Ann Street. Caloundra Windansea will celebrate their 50th anniversary in 2020, while Founding club Windansea California continues at San Diego.
