It includes over 100 surfboards spaning the eras from 1915/20 to today (different surfboard designs, construction methods and materials used from timber to space age ie from hand tools to computer generated shaping machines); photographs & photographic equipment; surf movie posters and album covers; clothing, trophies, books etc.

Some memorabilia depicts people, places and events of interest and importance.  These include:

Rare 1910 – 1915 Solid Timber Hawaiian Board

Made from a single slab of redwood, it is still embossed with the original owner’s name and in an unrestored condition.  The board is similar to the one ridden by Duke Kahanamoku at Freshwater Beach, Sydney in 1914/15 and is a prime example of board craftsmanship and design of the Hawaiian boards of the time.  Only a few are known to exist in Australia.  This board was discovered being used as a table in a garden shed.

Parka Issued To The Judges At The 1964 Manly, Sydney World Titles

This garment has been signed by the finalists including Midget Farrelly, the 1st Men’s World Champion, Phyllis O’Donell, 1st Women’s World Champion and Joe Larkin, a judge at those titles.  The parka is accompanied by a 1st World Titles programme and provenance by Joe Larkin.  It is known to be the only signed one in existence.

Autographed World Championship Winning Surfboards…

…of both Mick Fanning 2007 and Stephanie Gilmore 2008.  In addition we have six of each of their contest winning boards accompanied by provenance describing manufacture, technical aspects of the boards and dates and location of contest victories.
